This is a concept book of a clothing brand, MANU FABER. This book consists of an antique book about the classical dance in India published in 1963, and photos taken in Jaipur, Varanasi, and Kolkata in India and a small village in the border of Bangladesh. It also has images of the textiles printed and embroidered in India, and some parts of actual clothings and their patterns. This book portrays the attitude to their production, such as past and present, and the fusion of functionality and craftsmanship; the idea of “body”, which is the core image of the brand, is the center of these attitude. A special edition is also available in a small lot, which uses a page of the antique book on the cover and is handbound with a thread for sewing clothes.

ブランドMANU FABERのコンセプトブック。1963年に出版された、インドの古典舞踊について書かれた1冊の古書と、現在のインドのジャイプール、バラナシ、コルカタと、バングラデシュの国境の小さな村で撮影した写真を元に構成されています。また、インドでプリントと刺繍を施したテキスタイルや、実際の服の一部やパターンなども掲載されています。ブランドの核にある「身体性」を意識したイメージを中心に、過去と現在、機能と手仕事の融合といった制作姿勢を本書でご覧いただけます。表紙に実際の古書の1ページを使用し、服の制作時にも使われる糸で1冊ずつ手でかがった特装版も少数制作しました。
